Position Overview

We are seeking a junior/senior AC/DC Server Power Engineer to qualify the power supply for enterprises, HPC, and next-generation AI computing servers. As an AC power engineer, you will collaborate cross-functionally with hardware, firmware, and production validation teams to ensure reliable PSU operation across various server platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Vendor Qualification & Test Report Analysis:

Evaluate vendor PSU validation reports with a thorough understanding of test methodologies, operating conditions, acceptance criteria, and compliance standards for design robustness and product quality.

  • Power Validation Planning & Execution:

Develop comprehensive validation test plans, qualification procedures, and technical reports, and execute system-level power validation throughout the product development lifecycle, including electrical function, reliability, new features adoption and 2nd source PSU evaluation.

  • System-Level Power Compliance Review:

Review PSU-related hardware schematics, power distribution architecture, and system specifications including hardware/firmware features to ensure system-level compatibility, reliability, and regulatory compliance.

  • Power Supply Debugging & Failure Analysis

Participate in advanced trouble shooting activities, finding out PSU malfunction issues, distinguishing PSU compatibility problem, performing detailed failure analysis, identifying root causes, driving corrective and preventive actions for functional team.

  • Ownership Capabilities:

Ability to respond in a timely manner to technical issues related to PSU functionality, project escalations, and cross-functional support requests while maintaining high-quality execution and problem resolution.

Required Qualifications

  • Education:

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, preferably with a focus on Power Electronics.

  • Experience:

Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in AC/DC power supply design or validation. Experience with server power supplies or AI server power supplies is highly preferred.

  • Technical Skills:

Hands-on experience operating oscilloscopes, AC source, AC power analyzer and E-load instruments for PSU validation. Familiarity with CRPS/MCRPS or related server power supply specifications, ORV3 power specifications. Strong understanding of power converter topologies, including:

  • PFC and Totem-Pole PFC converters
    • Flyback, PSFB, LLC and Forward converters
    • Buck and Boost converters

Knowledge of PSU power monitoring interfaces, PMBus communication protocols and PSU controller mechanisms. Experience with server system level troubleshooting, compatible analysis, and EMC validation is highly preferred.
