Summary of Position

Jabil Design Services is seeking a Validation Engineer Intern to assist with the setup and screening of customer server configurations.  The intern will gain a real-world understanding of industry use cases, while helping to drive efficiency and effectiveness into the JDS validation process.  By the end of internship, he or she will gain hands-on experience with server hardware, firmware and operating systems, as well as infrastructure (switch/storage) management.

Intern Duties & Responsibilities

• Server hardware installation
• Firmware and software configuration
• Networking / Infrastructure maintenance
• Test case execution
• Defect reporting, tracking and validation
• Status reporting

Qualifications

Major(s): IT, Computer Engineering / CET, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar

Class Year(s): Rising Sophomore, Rising Junior, Rising Senior

GPA: Min 3.0

• Knowledge of hardware components
• Familiarity with UEFI and BMC
• Linux and Windows familiarity
• Basic networking skills
• Scripting – Python, Bash, etc.
• Effective Communication
• Self-starter – Ability to drive work
• Leadership Skills: Agility, Building Trusting Relationships, Decision Making Skills, & Resilience
