JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for maintaining and analyzing the company’s state and local tax compliance and government incentive compliance, statutory reporting, and work independently with general supervision from management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Prepare state and local sales and use tax, real and personal property tax filings.
· Prepare state incentive filings and associated reporting.
· Review and analyzes general ledger account balances.
· Verify accuracy, makes recommendations for corrections.
· Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
· Analyze data related to overall profit and cost detail.
· Prepare timely reports and communication with functional areas.
· Support the preparation of forecast and work cell statements.
· Train other employees both within and outside the department.
· Prepare complex entries relating to cost accounts.
· Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.
· Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.
· May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax or a related field.
· 2-4 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or multinational environment.
· Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, advanced formulas).
· Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is highly desirable.
· Experience in state and local sales and property tax administration and filing, including incentive compliance, sales tax and commissions.
· Experience in manufacturing accounting.
· Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management.
· Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
· Ability to operate a personal computer including using a Windows based operating system and related software.
· Advanced PC skills, including training and knowledge of Jabil’s software packages.
