Job Summary
The Forklift Operator at Jabil, Inc. is responsible for safely and efficiently operating powered industrial trucks to move, stack, and retrieve materials within the warehouse or production facility. This role ensures the accurate and timely handling of goods to support manufacturing and logistical operations.
Job Responsibilities
* Operate various types of forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach truck, pallet jack) in a safe and efficient manner.
* Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper documentation and inspection of goods.
* Move materials to and from designated storage areas, production lines, and shipping docks.
* Accurately scan and track inventory using a warehouse management system (WMS) or similar tools.
* Perform routine pre-operation and post-operation inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance needs or defects.
* Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including storage areas and aisles.
* Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and procedures.
* Assist with general warehouse duties as needed, such as picking, packing, and sorting.
* Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize material flow and meet production schedules.
* Identify and report any discrepancies in inventory or product damage.
Job Qualifications
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Valid forklift operator certification or ability to obtain certification upon hire.
* Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating various types of forklifts in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
* Proven ability to operate forklifts safely and efficiently.
* Basic computer skills and experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) preferred.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy in tracking inventory.
* Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
* Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods.
