SUMMARY
This position will manage carrier relations for all transportation and various logistics services activities within the region, and along with the Carrier Managers in the other regions, manage Jabil’s global carrier relationships.  This position will support and work with the regional sites, in coordinating inter and intra-regional transportation requirements, lead the sites in selecting carriers and constructing routing guides and in driving productivity initiatives.  This position will support the Supply Chain Network Optimization team with in-region logistics expertise.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

  • Serve as Transportation expert in region
  • Manage carriers and forwarders
  • Manage carrier tariffs and coordinate freight quotations
  • Handle/Manage Global Logistics /Freight RFQ/RFP with very large number of trade lanes bidders in participation submitting huge data points/sets that requires expeditious crunching and summary report generation for analysis purpose to determine awards; etc
  • Work with sites in building and managing routing guides
  • Maintain metrics and activity reports
  • Work as part of global carrier team
  • Drive global and regional carrier productivity and cost reduction programs
  • Adherent to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.
  • Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.
  • Any other Logistics related/relevant tasks, scope as and when assigned

KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong; deep and broad knowledge and practitioner of global and regional logistics operations and industry.
  • Strong proficiency in determining logistics requirements to enable BU’s business goals and objectives with ability to devise and implement strategy to help achieve targets.
  • Strong financial and analytical ability.  Proficiency in managing business analytics to determine optimum BU’s and Jabil Operations footprint and logistics services and capabilities
  • Leadership/managerial skills
  • Proven record of influencing skills and stakeholder management
  • Proven track record of successful change management accomplishments, implementing and management continuous productivity and cost reduction programs.
  • Strong and convincing communication skills.
  • Proficiency in use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and e-mail skills required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • At minimal, bachelor’s degree required. 
  • 5 plus years of significant international and regional logistics experience or a combination of education, experience and/or training.
  • Strong knowledge of global and regional transportation modes and other logistics services (air, integrator, road, ocean modes, warehousing and Brokerage services).
  • Demonstrated high performance orientation, strong analytical skills, industry knowledge, negotiating ability, sound judgment and communication skills. 
  • Strong Project management as well as overall general leadership skills. 
  • Ability to work with organizing, handling and crunching large amount of data, to generate insightful summary report, ability to complete analysis at expeditious/compressed turnaround timelines, in support of productivity improvement projects.
  • Must be able to influence senior management through well-formulated business presentations.
  • Must have ability and willingness to work and lead focused team within a matrix organization.
