At Jabil we strive to make ANYTHING POSSIBLE and EVERYTHING BETTER. We are proud to be a trusted partner for the world's top brands, offering comprehensive engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain solutions. With over 60 years of experience across industries and a vast network of over 100 sites worldwide, Jabil combines global reach with local expertise to deliver both scalable and customized solutions.

We are seeking an experienced attorney to enhance the compliance program for Jabil’s operations across Europe and the Middle East. This role provides legal counsel and governance oversight in regional trade and customs compliance, regulatory interpretation, audit response, and government interactions, while supporting day-to-day import, export, and cross-border supply chain matters.

In addition, this role will serve as a key legal interface between Business and Operations teams, focusing on advisory support, policy governance, regulatory compliance, team leadership, and compliance assurance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary legal advisor on trade compliance matters for Jabil’s operations across Europe and the Middle East, providing guidance to site trade compliance teams and business leaders.

  • Provide legal counsel on EU customs and export control regulations, including the EU Union Customs Code, EU Dual-Use Regulation (EU) 2021/821, national export control regimes, and related customs programs.

  • Advise on tariff classification, customs valuation, and country of origin determinations, including preferential trade agreements and rules of origin applicable across European and Middle Eastern jurisdictions.

  • Support compliance with special customs procedures such as inward processing, outward processing, bonded warehousing, and authorized economic operator (AEO) programs.

  • Oversee implementation of trade compliance policies, internal controls, and reporting standards across multiple sites to ensure consistent regulatory compliance.

  • Conduct and oversee trade compliance risk assessments across sites and third-party relationships; identify gaps and lead mitigation and corrective action efforts.

  • Support government interactions, including customs audits, regulatory inspections, licensing reviews, and enforcement inquiries across relevant jurisdictions.

  • Support training initiatives and provide ongoing guidance to strengthen trade compliance awareness across business and operational teams.

  • Monitor regulatory developments and coordinate with U.S. and global trade compliance teams to ensure alignment on cross-border regulatory requirements, including export controls, sanctions, and customs programs.

Education and Experience

  • Law degree from an accredited institution.

  • 7+ years of experience in export controls and customs law within Europe.

  • Experience engaging with European customs authorities, export licensing agencies, or similar regulatory bodies.

  • Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex regulatory frameworks and apply them in operational environments.

  • Ability to communicate complex regulatory requirements clearly to non-legal stakeholders.

Additional Requirements

  • Fluent in English; additional European or Middle Eastern language capabilities are a plus.

  • Licensed attorney in good standing in a European jurisdiction.
