Leading the Manufacturing Engineering Department in operating with a high level of efficiency, integrity and enthusiasm, striving to achieve excellence (and avoid mediocrity) in all endeavors. Be a creative and proactive contributor on the management team, focused on continuous improvement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide operational and project execution leadership for the Manufacturing Engineering function, coordinating priorities with Maintenance, Engineering Support, Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Shift Leads, and other cross-functional partners to deliver the manufacturing plan while ensuring Safety initiatives remain the foremost priority and Quality initiatives are maintained as the second priority.
• Display expert knowledge of the internal and external engineering environment.
• Drive efficiencies in current technical systems.
• Manage the development of new technical systems.
• Support the Engineering Manager in the evaluation and equipment needs for today and future needs.
• Support the Engineering Manager with labor forecasting and skills needs in line with new business requirements.
• Undertake technology benchmarking and drive” best in class” engineering solutions.
• Lead and Manage the Manufacturing Engineering Function.

Individual Performance Management:

• Define clear performance metrics.
• Review performance metrics and progress continuously.
• Effectively prepare for and perform informal 1 to 1’s and annual appraisals.
• Identify training / development needs on an ongoing basis.
• Agree individual development plans.
• Provide 1 to 1 coaching to facilitate individual excellence.
• May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Team Performance Management:

• Drive a mindset of innovation and continuous improvement throughout the Manufacturing Engineering function.
• Create and manage a succession plan for the Manufacturing Engineering function.
• Drive motivation levels within the Manufacturing Engineering function.
• Drive consistency of approach and performance.
• Ensure that an effective forum for the exchange of ideas and information exists within the Manufacturing Engineering function.
• Review the absence profile and employee turnover within the Manufacturing Engineering function.
• Facilitate/ Coach the Manufacturing Engineers and Technicians with regards to their roles & responsibilities within the team.
• Build and Maintains effective Customer Relationships.
• May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor of Science Degree from an accredited institution in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, or comparable education/experience.
• 8-12 years of experience in manufacturing engineering and/or project management.
• Previous experience in a regulated industry, such as Medical Devices, is preferred.
• Strong leadership practices built on integrity and accountability
• Previous supervisor/management experience.
• Exceptional organizational and project management skills with a results-oriented approach.
• Six Sigma or Lean Sigma certification or 2 years of relevant experience is preferred.
• Proficient in written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Minitab, and databases.
• Effective interpersonal skills and professionalism in interactions with colleagues.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.

The pay range for this role is $100,100 - $180,200. Job-related, non-discriminatory factors used to determine the actual offered rate include qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data, and consideration of internal equity. The anticipated close date of this job requisition is: December 31, 2026.
