Role Overview:
The Junior Systems Developer is responsible for assisting in the design, development, and maintenance of software applications and systems within the organization. This role involves working closely with senior developers and other cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery and enhancement of software solutions. The Junior Systems Developer will contribute to both new development projects and ongoing support of existing applications, with a focus on ensuring code quality and technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design, development, and implementation of software systems and applications.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code in alignment with team standards and best practices.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure high code quality and share knowledge with peers.
- Collaborate with other team members and departments to understand technical requirements and solve problems.
- Perform maintenance and updates on existing applications, ensuring system stability and performance.
- Document system designs, processes, and code for knowledge sharing and future development.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and tools that could improve development processes and system performance.
Core Competencies:
- Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of at least one programming language (e.g., Java, C#, Python, JavaScript, Mendix) and software development best practices.
- Team Collaboration: Works effectively within a development team, contributing to group tasks and learning from senior developers.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to break down complex problems and identify practical solutions in a timely manner.
- Adaptability: Eager to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving software development practices.
- Attention to Detail: Focus on writing clean, efficient, and error-free code.
Skills and Experience:
- Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Basic knowledge of databases and SQL.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and development environments.
- Exposure to agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) is desirable.
Preferred Experience:
- Familiarity with front-end (e.g., React, Angular) or back-end (e.g., Node.js, .NET) frameworks.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is beneficial.
- Basic understanding of software testing frameworks and tools.
