Job Purpose

Support the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of automated manufacturing systems, with a focus on 6-axis robotics integrated into injection molding and ancillary equipment, while developing capability under SME guidance.

Reporting Line

Direct report to SME Automation & Ancillary Equipment Engineer. Works closely with production, tooling, and quality teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in setup, operation, and basic programming of 6-axis robots
• Support integration with injection molding machines and vision systems
• Assist FAT/SAT activities and commissioning
• Perform first-line troubleshooting and escalate complex issues
• Support IQ/OQ/PQ validation execution under supervision
• Assist / Implement EOAT setup and changeovers
• Support OEE, cycle time, and scrap reduction activities
• Follow safety and automation standards
• Implement / Support preventive maintenance and documentation

Competency Requirements

• Basic robot operation and adjustment (Cartesian and or 6 axis)
• Basic automation system understanding
• Structured troubleshooting ability
• Awareness of IQ/OQ/PQ validation
• Safety compliance understanding
• Continuous improvement awareness

Training & Development (Provided)

• 6-axis robot programming (basic & expert)
• Injection molding fundamentals
• PLC basics
• Machine safety and CE awareness
• Validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) awareness
• Vision systems introduction
• Problem solving and RCA fundamentals

Experience & Qualifications

• Technical qualification (apprenticeship/diploma)
• 0–3 years experience (automation/manufacturing preferred)
• Exposure to robotics or molding advantageous
• Strong willingness to learn
