Job Summary

The Automation Jr. Engineer at Jabil, Inc. will support the design, development, and implementation of automated manufacturing systems. This role assists senior engineers in optimizing production processes, improving efficiency, and ensuring the reliability of automation solutions across various production lines.

Job Responsibilities

* Assist in the design, development, and testing of automation solutions, including robotic systems, PLCs, HMIs, and vision systems.
* Support the installation, commissioning, and validation of new automated equipment and processes.
* Participate in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to automation hardware and software.
* Document automation system specifications, operating procedures, and maintenance protocols.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., production, maintenance, quality) to identify automation opportunities and implement improvements.
* Conduct preventative maintenance and calibration activities on automation equipment.
* Learn and apply industry best practices for industrial automation and control systems.
* Support data collection and analysis for process optimization and performance monitoring.
* Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.

Job Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
* Familiarity with PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and HMI development.
* Basic understanding of industrial robotics and automation principles.
* Knowledge of electrical schematics and control panel wiring.
* Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) is a plus.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
* Eagerness to learn and develop new technical skills.
