Job Summary:

We are looking for a proficient Chinese to English and vice versa Interpreter with experience in the tooling or manufacturing industry. The role involves facilitating clear and accurate communication between Chinese-speaking and English-speaking teams, suppliers, and clients, especially in technical discussions related to tooling, machining, and manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret verbal communication during meetings, factory visits, technical discussions, and supplier negotiations.
• Translate technical documents, specifications, CAD drawings, quality reports, and emails between Chinese and English.
• Assist engineering and procurement teams in communicating with Chinese vendors and manufacturers.
• Ensure accurate interpretation of industry-specific terminology related to tooling, CNC machining, mold making, and precision engineering.
• Support cross-functional teams during audits, inspections, and product development discussions.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all communications.
• Provide cultural context and clarification when needed to avoid miscommunication.

Qualifications:

• Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English (spoken and written).
• Prior experience in manufacturing or engineering environments, preferably in tooling or precision components.
• Strong understanding of technical vocabulary in both languages.
• Certification in interpretation or translation (preferred).
• Excellent listening, memory, and note-taking skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with CAD software, technical drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
• Knowledge of tooling processes such as injection molding, and CNC machining.
• Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills.
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

Working Conditions:

• May require travel to manufacturing sites or supplier locations.
