How will you make an impact?

Ownership for monitoring inventory levels, traceability, and identifying, classifying, and finding the root causes of inventory inaccuracies. Provide feedback and possible solutions to management for eliminating future discrepancies.

What will you do?

  • Monitor all material transactions for assigned area(s).
  • Identify, resolve, and determine the root cause of inventory discrepancies and related inventory errors.
  • Recommend changes that will eliminate or significantly reduce future inventory inaccuracies.
  • Be flexible to work overtime, assist in material handling functions, and fill in for other Inventory Control personnel as required by the Inventory Control Manager.
  • Eliminate manufacturing downtime associated with assigned area(s), where applicable.
  • Perform regular component cycle counts as required.
  • Perform inventory transactions and reporting on customer systems when required.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of materials management systems that enhance inventory control.
  • Interface with departmental supervisors, support functions, engineering, program management, and other plant operations personnel.
  • Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.
  • Comply with all procedures within the company security policy.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

How will you get here?

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Additional education in Supply Chain, Materials Management, Business, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in inventory control, materials management, logistics, warehouse operations, or manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Successful applicants will have to fulfill all prerequisites for contracts. Certain positions may require U.S. Citizenship.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer using a Windows-based operating system and related software.
  • Advanced PC skills, including knowledge of Jabil software packages.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence and read and understand visual aids.
  • Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to investigate inventory discrepancies and determine root causes.
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple departments in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with inventory control systems, ERP systems, and materials management processes.
  • Experience performing cycle counts, inventory reconciliation, and transaction auditing.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing operations and production material flow.
  • Knowledge of traceability requirements and inventory accuracy methodologies.
  • Experience working in an electronics manufacturing environment.
