JOB SUMMARY

  • Manages site/facility in a manner that reduces operating costs, increases revenues, and ensures customer expectations are exceeded.
  • Ensure that our business is well-coordinated and productive by managing its operations and coaching its people to be best in class.
  • The area of responsibility for this role is very wide and thus requires thorough knowledge of various company processes. The ideal candidate must be competent and able to plan many kinds of operational activities and must be an excellent leader who can discover the most efficient ways to run the business.

Key Responsibilities and End Results:

  • Safety First: Provide strong safety leadership to create a culture where safety is a core value and driving for an injury free workplace.
  • Leads employees and management, ensuring all groups work together, trends are monitored, and quality is kept to a high standard.
  • Lead/drive operational excellence across the site and set strategic goals for operational efficiency and increased productivity.
  • Plan, monitor, and analyze key metrics for day-to-day operations to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks.
  • Draw on relationships with departmental/functional leads, external partners, and vendors to make decisions regarding operational activity and strategic goals.
  • Improve, direct, and implement strategic manufacturing management plans, policies, procedures, and systems to best achieve overall manufacturing, quality, and delivery targets.
  • Develop plans to increase efficiency and reduce costs. Review financial information and adjust operational budgets to promote profitability.
  • Sets policy and does periodic forecasting of revenue and capital expenditures, in a manner which reduces operational costs, increases revenue, exceeds customer expectations, grows current business, and obtains new business.
  • Devise strategies for ensuring the growth of programs site-wide and implement process improvements to maximize output and minimize costs.
  • Analyze current business capability and other dynamics to identify key priorities for response, including leveraging internal/external resources to maximize production and output.
  • Capacity planning of operational resources (materials/tools/equipment/people) to fulfill department responsibilities, including negotiating cross-departmental dependencies and resource sharing.
  • Strong collaboration with sister site in US to drive global consistency and efficiency.
  • Foster an environment of employee engagement and a culture that encourages teamwork. Create an organization that is passionate about operational excellence and continuous improvement with a drive to be industry leading in all aspects of site operations.
  • Lead the team, developing and engaging all employees through regular, clear, and consistence performance management and individual development planning. Recruit, mentor, and retain “best-in-class” talent.
  • Performs policy making, decision- making and long-range planning with these groups to support goals of the Company.
  • Work closely with Human Resources to lead the team with integrity and to establish and maintain a trusting, inclusive, and productive environment.

  • Evaluate overall performance by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data and metrics.
  • Looks for ways to improve efficiency and management of all facilities under control by sharing of resources.
  • Other ad hoc duties may be assigned.
  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work with cross functional teams.
  • Decision Making skills and confidence to challenge others on decisions that impact the manufacturing area.
  • Strong planning & organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in the English language is a requirement alongside eligibility to work in Ireland.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • A “can do” work ethic with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Computer literate with intermediate / Advanced MS Office skills.

Job Specifications:

Essential criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering and/or Master’s in related field preferred.  May substitute experience in lieu of educational requirements.
  • Minimum 8+ years’ experience in a senior leadership role within a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferably in an electronic manufacturing-services company.    
  • Extensive experience working directly with customer and developing the customer relationship.
  • Commercially aware and ability to review and manage operational costs of a significant OEM account.
  • Demonstrated experience in defining and executing operational performance and process improvement initiatives for maximum efficiency, while supporting shifting business demands.
  • Proven ability to plan and manage operational processes for maximum efficiency and productivity.
  • Strong communicator both written and verbal with ability to influence across numerous stakeholders at varying levels.
  • In depth knowledge of diverse business functions and principles (e.g., materials/supply chain, engineering, quality, HR, EHS, Security, IT etc.)

Desired criteria

  • BS/BA degree in Manufacturing Technology / Mechanical Engineering / Electronical / Electronics / Mechatronics
  • Experience in electronic manufacturing environment is highly advantageous.
  • Experience in leading process improvements / lean manufacturing activities in a manufacturing environment is advantageous.
